The backlighting used is LED rather than the traditional CCFL florescent backlighting normally used in this screen size. For a price of $750 - not a bad feature set. See the full review.
The 40ES6000 is and LED backlit 40" 1080p offering from Samsung with a value price point under $800. It is Samsung's value non-3D end line of LED backlit LCD TVs for 2012. It still has very nice appearance with a thin black bezel frame and 2" depth. 120Hz processing is included on this model, so it will not diffuse judder and jerky material in the picture as well as some of the higher end Samsung LED-LCD TVs. The clear coat screen with HD programming is a high point. It does not have 3D or Smart TV Internet options.

Plenty of high-def connections, and a wireless option that really worksSeveral high-def inputs are distributed on the back and side panels, including four HDMI inputs and two component video inputs. Connect a Blu-ray player, HD satellite or cable box, and high-def video game console. And if you're tired of dealing with a tangle of wires behind the TV, LG makes an optional wireless media box that does away with audio/video cables between your TV and components. And there's no picture quality penalty, either — this system can send "Full HD" 1080p video up to 30 feet away.
Well, in order to start out really simply: no, you do not need a 4K TV to play on the new-gen consoles. In fact, a lot of games still look excellent at 1080p, particularly on more modest sized screens.

Standard HD TVs, which replaced 4:3 televisions as the new standard TV resolution in the mid 2000s, featured a resolution of 1920x1080 and were composed of two million pixels. In the mid 2010s, 4K TVs, sometimes called 4K UHD TVs, took over as the new standard, with a massively increased resolution of 3840x2160. In other words, 4K TVs feature four times as many pixels compared to standard HD TVs and produce an overall sharper image. While 1080p Full HD TVs are still available and offer solid performance for budget conscious users, so many 4K TV models are now on the market that these higher resolution models are the best choice for most setups. 2ff7e9595c
